Te āheinga / The opportunity

Our Information Technology team is seeking a dynamic Business Solutions Manager who will play a pivotal role in shaping how council uses digital capability to improve services, streamline processes and support better outcomes for our communities.

You’ll lead a talented team and work closely with key business owners to define, develop, and deliver technologyenabled solutions. From business case development to project leadership and process optimisation, youll ensure were leveraging both council’s and modern tools and approaches to move at pace and scale.

Your expertise in project management and business analysis will underpin the delivery of robust business cases, ensuring that technology initiatives are well-defined, technically viable, and aligned with council objectives.  Collaboration will be central to your success, as you build strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers, fostering teamwork and shared accountability.

He kōrero mōu / About you

We’re looking for someone who can influence, collaborate, and think ahead—someone who understands both people and the technical aspects of digital transformation, and can translate complex ideas into clear, meaningful direction. You thrive on inspiring collaboration and consistently driving excellence. In addition, you will bring the following:

  • A relevant degree qualification in relevant discipline
  • 5+ years’ experience delivering IT projects (Business Analysis or Project Management certification preferred)
  • Change management experience, including guiding and mentoring through project delivery.
  • Experience applying project management principles and practices and using business analysis techniques and relevant methodologies.
  • Strong team management and leadership skills, including analytical, critical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly and persuasively to non-technical audiences
  • Sound understanding of Māori culture.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and project management tools.
