Te āheinga / The opportunity
In this role, you will play a key part in supporting and strengthening contract and project management systems across the organisation. Your will help ensure that these systems and processes run smoothly and efficiently, while also providing guidance and resources that support staff to manage contracts and projects with confidence and consistency.
You'll develop and support project management practices across the organisation, helping to foster a culture of structured and effective delivery. By championing best practice and contributing to staff development, you'll strengthen capability and ensure teams are equipped to deliver projects with confidence and consistency.
A core part of your work will involve building strong links between contracts, projects, risk management, monitoring, and reporting. You’ll collaborate with teams across the organisation to align efforts, streamline workflows, and support continuous improvement initiatives that drive better outcomes, while ensuring contract management risks are managed.

He kōrero mōu / About you
We are looking for someone proactive and adaptable, who can juggle multiple priorities with ease. You will have experience in contract and project management ideally in a local government setting. In addition, you will bring the following:
- Relevant degree qualification (business, etc).
- Experience in systems improvement
- Strong communication skills
- Strong working knowledge of contract management processes
- Strong knowledge and experience in project management practices
- Familiarity with, and experience working with corporate processes and/or business systems, ideally in a local government setting.
- Working knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and relationship building with tangata whenua.
