Te āheinga / The opportunity 

Join our high-performing, close-knit finance team as an Accounts Receivable Officer. Your day-to-day will involve generating and managing invoices for various fees, handling debtor links for consent applications and processing transfers, and liaising with consent managers to ensure precise invoicing and evaluating work in progress. You will investigate and respond to customer enquiries, assisting with auditor requests, and maintaining the council's User Fees & Charges document. Additionally, you'll generate monthly statements, recover outstanding debt, assist with receipting  customer payments and coordinate with the debt-collection agency when needed.

He kōrero mōu / About you 

We are looking for someone who can bring the following to our diverse talent pool: 

  • A relevant qualification in business or finance not required but desirable. 
  • 2 plus years’ experience in accounting and accounts receivable at a senior level with strong data entry and reconciliation skills 
  • Experience with ERP systems 
  • Experience in use of Microsoft applications especially Word, Excel, and Outlook. 
  • A passion for continuous improvement to drive positive change with systems and processes. 
  • Displays cultural empathy and awareness. 
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal.
